When it starts, when to pick blueberries during the season, and when it ends are entirely dependent on Mother Nature herself. The blueberries love heat, sun, and water and not too much or too little of any of them.

Welcome to blueberry season here in southern Maine! At our family-run high bush blueberry farm, we eagerly anticipate the time when our fields burst with juicy, ripe blueberries, ready for picking. Blueberry season kicks off in mid to late July and extends through mid to late August, offering a brief but bountiful window to enjoy these delicious berries.
When Does Blueberry Picking Start?
The exact start of blueberry season and the availability of farms for blueberry picking in Maine are determined entirely by Mother Nature. Weather, rain, temperatures, and sunshine all play crucial roles in how quickly blueberries ripen. Our bleuberry farm will open for picking as soon as there are ripe berries, but sometimes we need to close for a few days to allow more berries to ripen and to perform necessary maintenance like mowing between the rows!

No dogs are allowed in the blueberry fields and we recommend not bringing them and leaving them in the car; the exception is trained service animals.
