Our Story
Estes Blueberry Farm
Estes Farm, founded in 1954 by Carl and Lorraine Estes, has been an integral part of the local community for generations. Both Carl and Lorraine were esteemed educators in the Gorham schools for many years. With a rich history of pick-your-own berries in southern Maine, Estes Farm has evolved over its 70-year existence.
Renowned by locals for its blueberry picking, the farm used to include strawberries and raspberries among its offerings. Throughout the years, the farm has cultivated a variety of crops, including melons, hay, straw, and pumpkins.
Though the specifics of Estes Farm’s produce have changed over time, it remains a cherished family operation. Today, the farm is in the capable hands of second-generation owners Don and Gwen Estes, with occasional assistance from their grandchildren, who you may see helping weigh your blueberries or sitting in the weighing shed having a blueberry snack!
